Will I Need a Referral for Your OT Services?A referral from a GP is not required. Please fill in our referral form.

What Should I Expect During the Initial OT Assessment? The Initial Assessment is most commonly a 2 hour meeting, which consists of gathering information about your child’s developmental history, interests, strengths and areas they require support with. We will send a link to complete a functional assessment and can discuss sensory assessments to be implemented at a later date, if suitable. We will discuss goals collaboratively and schedule in our regular sessions. We look forward to meeting your little one!
-
What Type of Activities are Used in OT Therapy Sessions? We incorporate a variety of play-based and functional activities designed to improve specific skills. It may include fine motor activities and games, obstacle courses, sensory exploration and worksheets. Although, please keep in mind our sessions are always different for each child and tailored to their unique needs.
-
Do Parents/Caregivers Participate in OT Sessions?Yes, we encourage parents to be actively involved in therapy sessions, where possible. Participation helps reinforce the skills being learned and we highly encourage you to continue with the strategies out of sessions, to optimise and support your child’s development. Session notes will be sent after every session and will include important areas discussed, what intervention and strategies were implemented, how your child participated and the plan and strategies to continue moving forward

How do I Access NDIS Funding For Your OT Services? If your child is 6 years and under and requires early intervention support, they may be eligible for NDIS funding, if they have a minimum of two areas of development they require support with. Your child does not need a formal diagnosis to meet the eligibility criteria under the age of 6. After 6 years of age, your child must meet particular criteria for continued NDIS support. To access Early Childhood Intervention, contact their trained and qualified staff at Link Health and Community by calling 1800 546 532. Alternatively, you may complete the referral form linked below and email the form to ecei.link.lchs@ndis.gov.au.

How Long is Your Waitlist?Unfortunately, we are currently at capacity. On occasions and where time permits, we may offer once off assessments. Waitlist times vary based on a multitude of factors such as clients no longer being eligible for NDIS funding, clients achieving all of their goals and being discharged or clients moving out of the service area. When there is capacity, we will update our website and hope to service you soon!

If they can’t, we need to figure out why, so we can help.”
