Fees and Funding
NDIS or Private
Bumble Bea Occupational Therapy is committed to transparent, ethical pricing. All fees are discussed openly, with no hidden costs, and align with current funding requirements where applicable.
NDIS Fees
We primarily support children who are NDIS self-managed or plan-managed.
Therapy sessions
Our standard rate is $193.99 per hour, aligned with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (2025-2026). This reflects the time spent delivering personalised, child-centred occupational therapy tailored to your child’s individual needs and goals.
Travel fees (outreach services)
For outreach visits, travel is charged for both time at the standard rate and $0.99 per kilometre driven. Where possible, travel time and kilometres are shared across clients scheduled on the same day to help keep costs fair and reasonable.
Assessments, reports & other services
Costs for assessments, reports, letters, and other non-session services vary depending on the scope and time required. A clear, personalised quote will always be provided before proceeding.
Fees are reviewed and updated in line with NDIS pricing changes to ensure ongoing compliance and transparency.
Private Fees – Self-Funded
We welcome private self-funded families. Private self-funded sessions are charged at $193.99 per hour. Invoices and receipts are provided following payment.
Medicare Rebates (Chronic Disease Management Plan)
Some families may be eligible for Medicare rebates for occupational therapy under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan.
Key information:
-
Children may access up to 5 allied health sessions per calendar year, shared across eligible allied health providers
-
A GP referral is required
-
The referral must be issued under a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan, not a Mental Health Care Plan
-
Medicare rebates cover part of the session fee, and a gap payment will apply
-
A receipt will be issued to allow families to claim the rebate directly from Medicare after payment
-
We recommend confirming eligibility and rebate amounts with your GP and Medicare prior to commencing therapy.
Private Health Insurance
Some private health funds offer rebates for occupational therapy, depending on your level of cover.
Please note:
-
You cannot claim a rebate from both Medicare and private health insurance for the same session
-
A gap payment will apply
-
A receipt will be issued to enable families to claim directly from their private health insurer
-
Rebates, eligibility, and claim processes vary between funds and individual policies
We recommend contacting your private health insurer directly to confirm your entitlements before starting therapy.

If they can’t, we need to figure out why, so we can help.”
